MUSIC CALLS ON EVERYONE. NO ART DOES AS MUCH,
and more and more practitioners respond to this calling. For music does not limit its marvellous manifestations to works for the masses: it meets the most diverse needs of our soul and fills them with all the impressions it is capable of. None of our moods will be unknown to her. Music participates in the outer noisy life as in the destiny of individual souls, in their sorrows and joys. It resounds in the temple as in the woods.

Franz Liszt wrote this a long time ago, and I am firmly convinced he was right: music is life and life is music.
